AMERIKKKA

It is September first. Three weeks from today officially inaugurates autumn, but we are still firmly in the grip of summer. The temperatures the last several days have been close to 100 and a blustery wind blows. But as numbers, they hardly matter as Coronavirus deaths in Cameron County near 800, deaths in Texas near 13,000 and deaths in the country near 190,000.

Besides the mounting deaths, the economy staggers into the future as unrest erupts throughout the country. In Kenosha, Wisconsin, another white cop put seven bullets into the back of another black man who miraculously survived. A 17-year-old boy from nearby Illinois walked down a Kenosha street with an automatic weapon and killed two young white men and wounded a third protesting police brutality. Charged with multiple homicides and other felonies, he proudly calls himself a soldier in Trump's vigilante army.

Trump is in Kenosha this afternoon. He is ignoring the black victim and defending the murdering teenager. He says this is Joe Biden's America. He says the murderer had no other choice but to murder or he would have been murdered. This is the reality of Trump's America. A white kid appears from another state armed and shoots three people and he is the victim.

How long can this con game continue? Trump's militants are now claiming that the approximately 190,000 deaths due to COVID-19 are part of a conspiracy to undermine the president because according to their sources only 19,000 have died from Coronavirus. Have Trump's true colors once again shown themselves: white--good; black--bad?

His strategy is blatant. In order to conquer America and capture the presidency, he must divide the country and nothing achieves that end more effectively than violence. He is banking on a reactionary movement that will allow him to eke out slim victories in the swing states and win four more years. He has no problem with cops killing African-Americans. He has no problem with Neo-Nazis killing protesters. He wants violence that he audaciously blames on Biden as he solidifies his base and attempts to increase his support via fearmongering that can only be effective as long as there is blood flowing in the streets.

But when are the silent masses finally going to respond, "This is not Joe Biden's America. We remember the eight years of the Obama/Biden's America. We were healthy. We were working. We lived peaceful lives. We are literally fighting for our survival in Trump's America. Millions are looking for jobs in Trump's America. Racism reigns in Trump's America. Our children cannot safely go to school in Trump's America.

Trump is playing with fire. You cannot fan the flames of divisiveness and not get burned. Because of the virus, I live in fear. With Trump unfettered, my paranoia only increases. Four more years of this man-child playing with matches and our nation, consumed by a huge conflagration, will go up in smoke. Trump's America is a living hell. Trump's America is an infernal without hope. Trump's America is the devil's delight. I yearn for the Obama/Biden years. If we are going to weather this firestorm, the next four years have to be Biden's America.
