CARLOS SAYS MINERVA HAS TO GO

Carlos McHale-Esparza is fed up! The son of two BISD retired educators, he feels that BISD Board President Minerva "La Messiah" Peña has failed the district.

"She is a Trump strumpet," said the Hanna High graduate who was spending the night drinking wine with his father, the iconic Dr. G.F. McHale-Scully.

"This woman thinks that Coronavirus is a hoax," said the former Eagle basketball player who earned his B.A. from UTB and taught fifth graders for two years before seeking his future in the private sector.

"She could give a damn if our teachers and students die as long as the Trump agenda of fake normalcy prevails. Minerva has to go. I have been talking with my fellow Hanna graduate Frankie Olivo and he agrees with me that her time has come. She has taken the BISD from the muck to the mire."

McHale-Esparza, a painter, poet and dancer, says that the rank-and-file are undermined by a board that sacrifices their souls selling out to the highest bidders for health insurance and other special interest blackguards.

"We have an outstanding district that has been undermined by board politics," said McHale-Esparza. "We need change. That's why I'm sympathetic to the campaigns of my longtime friend Frankie and Daniella Lopez-Valdez.

"I have no special agenda other than restoring the integrity to the BISD that I benefitted from when I was a student. I haven't made a final decision on whether or not I will challenge the misguided Minerva, but I have until August 17th when I have to decide to throw the dice or not."

Rene Medrano and Ben Neece, the former one of the BISD's Hall of Fame football coaches and the other Brownsville City Council's most respected commissioner, are both urging McHale-Esparza to run for office.

"It's time for El Cambio," insisted Sara Stapleton, who barely lost to State Senator Eddie Lucio Jr. in the runoff. "Carlos is part of a youth crusade who wants to make positive changes in our community. His number one priority will be our teachers."
