CHAMBERS 10-25
In an effort to paint Democratic Cameron County Sheriff nominee Eric Garza as the recipient of cartel money and the next Conrado Cantu, the Singing Sheriff who spent years in the pen after authorities nailed him escorting Mexican shiploads of drugs through South Texas, these rumormongers have done their best to ignore the many foibles of Donald Trump's protégé "Chubby" John Chambers.
This is a man who was convicted of 14 felonies. This is a man who is awaiting sentencing for 14 misdemeanors, each charge carrying a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $4000 fine. This is a man who is being sued by Channel Five KRGV for illegally using the TV station's materials.
"For us, the red flag comes up with Chambers' campaign finance reports," noted The Brownsville Times, the newest blog to add its voice to Brownsville's reputation as the Blogging Capital of the United States.
"It reads that Chambers will pay over $225,000 to Pink Ape Media for advertising and promotion. It’s under expenditures made by credit card form. How does one even amass that amount of credit? Why would he invest a quarter of a million?"
Echoing previous impressions of the two candidates, The Times opined, "Chambers is insinuating that Garza has ties to organized crime. Garza mentions all of Chambers' run-ins with the law (many)."
While there is factual evidence regarding every accusation against Chambers, there is no proof of any wrongdoing against Garza. The Baker Boys have discovered that Chambers' backers are paying Mexican media outlets to plant stories in the Mexican media to tarnish Garza's reputation that disbarred lawyer Booby Witless-Cervantes immediately publishes in his El Brownsville Void. Witless-Cervantes' many critics suggest that the bully blogger is on Chambers' pay roll.
As to the cartel rumors regarding mafiosos funneling money to Garza that are promoted by Chambers' sympathizers who have mastered the art of innuendo from Trump, Robert Gracia, the father of JP Jonathan Gracia and a 32-year-old retired DEA veteran, and Mark Johnson, a successful businessman and a well-respected Brownsville native, are Garza's financial backers. It's public record. There are zero illegal monies.
Crap flies in a political campaign and there are several special interests with ties to Chambers whose days of sucking on the public tit depend on the Republican's victory. They are desperate to bring down Garza, who proved his professionalism as a public servant as the Cameron County District Clerk, and in their strategy if lies undermine Garza, then the means justify the ends.
BUT THE SHIT HAS REALLY HIT THE WALL NOW!!!
/DP-M, the publisher of The Brownsville Republic, reported in his Saturday edition that Chambers, in his capacity as a policeman at a previous job, was accused of stalking a 16-year-old girl. /DP-M, who has been holding a BISD trustee candidate's feet to the fire for latter's less than professional behavior with a female colleague, has the Chambers' team reeling with this revelation.
"Has /DP-M turned this election?" asked Maclovio O'Malley, la Voz de los Vatos who is working the barrios for Congressman Filemon Vela. "/DP-M has more credibility than the Bible. Besides explaining the 14 felonies, the 14 misdemeanors, the Channel 5 suit and his willingness--he portrays himself as a god-fearing man--to promote unfounded smears against his foe, he needs to hold an immediate news conference and provide the public with an explanation to refute /DP-M's reportage about the incident.
"As the campaign progresses, or in Chambers' case deteriorates, his detractors want to know if he is the reincarnation of Conrado Cantu. Has he become the lawless lawman?"
