CORNYN IS A ZOMBIE

U.S. SENATOR JOHN CORNYN: "We still don't know whether children can get Coronavirus and transmit it to others."


EDITOR'S NOTE: We know that our perverted president has lost his mind, but are Republicans rejecting the cold facts of figures? There are more than 135,000 Americans dead and there have been more than 3 million certified cases of COVID-19. We are experiencing in excess of 60,000 new cases every day, the highest case number since the pandemic snuck into the country while Trump was dyeing his hair and practicing his putting. The Rio Grande Valley presently finds itself in the eye of the storm as people are being swept away in bigger and bigger numbers every day. Hearing that an acquaintance has passed is losing of its shock because we don't have time to register the impact when more bad news arrives. Now we have Senator Cornyn uttering absolute nonsense that he hasn't seen any evidence to support that children are contagious as Trump and his hordes of haters are obsessionally intent on their suicide mission to reopen schools at any cost in August? Is he purposely ignorant? Is he out-of-touch with his own state? Doesn't his staff provide him with reports? Trump refuses to hear bad news, so his aids shield him from reality in order to avoid upsetting him. Is Cornyn short-fused also? The Dallas County Health and Human Services published that 1,534 children tested positive for COVID in the month of June alone. Why do children visit their pediatricians on a regular bases for their shots? Because they have a weak immune system. They haven't been a part of the herd long enough to development natural defenses to infectious diseases. As all teachers know, and I speak after 39 years of experience, flu sweeps mercilessly through classes because students are in contact with hundreds of other individuals every day. If this pandemic isn't under control in little more than a month and kids are forced into classrooms, we will have an unprecedented spike that will indubitably cost thousands of lives. COVID-19 doesn't pull any punches. If you could, ask the 135,000 dead if they believe Trump has done a "great job" and would they give him a "ten" for performing herculean feats? And then there are the enablers like the pitiful Pence who looks at the score board with a final score in which his team has lost, 56-0, and, straight-faced, has the temerity to declare that the tide has turned and his players are on the verge of bringing home the trophy to conclude another championship season. And then Cornyn, with the stats staring him in the face, suggests that children are not part of the contagion. Can you imagine if Trump--surrounded by his yes-men--had been prime minister of England instead of Winston Churchill during the Nazi's 1940 air invasion!?!? The citizens of London would be speaking German these days. As to Cornyn, is he a modern Oedipus Rex who is gouging out his own eyes because he is a coward who doesn't want to confront the horrific truth. He has no room in his vision for the stacks of dead bodies.)
