GARZA WANTS GARCIA'S HEAD

 Nobody has run the Brownsville Independent School District (BISD) Police Department for decades better than Police Chief Oscar Garcia.

Or at least that was our assumption among the BISD's rank-and-file. Apparently BISD trustee wannabe Denise Garza, seemingly as innocent as a lady bug but with the alleged venom of a black widow, wants to deliver John the Baptist's head on a platter to King Herod or whomever are the powers that hide behind the throne.

"She isn't even on the board and is reportedly talking about firing people." posed Marshall Law, The McHale Report's expert on all police matters. "Chief Garcia is one of the most respected professionals in the school district. It has been said by her critics that she was recruited from the concession stand at the West Brownsville Little League Park and it wasn't because she makes the best popcorn in town. Her backers believe that they can count on her to put the extra mustard on the hotdog with a dash of onions."

Garza, who is running on the strange platform that pursuing a higher education isn't important although her lack of college credits has sentenced her to the lowly existence of being a clerk in Hicksville San Benito, faces competition from university graduates Frankie Olivo and Jaime Diez, both successful professionals in their chosen fields.

"But should we be surprised by Ms. Garza's vindictiveness?" asked one of the community's most respected political pundits. "She is counting on the blind woman vote to defeat her two male foes, yet she calls the all-female leadership at the Association of Brownsville Educators (AOBE) corrupt because they wouldn't endorse her. By an overwhelming margin, they cast their lot with Oilvo."

In the latest South Texas Independent Journalists Association (STIJA) poll, Garza leads Olivo, 41% to 39%, with Diez trailing at 20%.

"We do a great disservice to our educators when we elected a trustee like Garza who wouldn't surprise anyone if she uttered, 'Won n won r tree" or "to n too r for" at a board meeting', but in the land of the stupid an ignorant politician can call herself queen.

"Why would she want to replace the highly qualified and supremely competent Garcia is a head-scratcher. He is a gentleman. In this campaign we are learning little by little that Garza is hardly a lady."
