LOS TRES BUITRES

"Los Tres Buitres" want to control the BISD Board of Trustees. They are trying to convince Marisa Leal, "La Paloma," to join their treacherous trio to form a majority in order to wreck havoc on the district as vengeance for their own personal failures.

What is The McHale Report's evidence that this terrible trio have fallen short of their parents' expectations? These three mugs shots after their arrests should be enough to convince the jury of public opinion that they are in no position to issue mandates to BISD administrators and educators nor be entrusted with our children's fortunes.

"These photos are more appropriate for a post office foyer than lining the entrance to the main BISD administrative office," said Marshall Law, The McHale Report's law enforcement expert. "While their crimes don't make them legally ineligible to run for office, you would think that they would have the common sense to slither into the high grass and stay as far as possible from the spotlight.

"But ambition blinds them to the obvious. Or maybe their vindictive natures blind them to the obvious. They don't have the moral authority to sit on the board. They have to face reality and recognize that their past errors that have led to their arrests preclude them from service to the school district. It is mind-boggling that they don't recognize this obvious fact."

All three find themselves in uphill struggles. Castro, the threesome's ringleader, faces Daniella Lopez-Valdez, a well-educated entrepreneur who has a spotless record and epitomizes the young Democratic woman in the tradition of Sara Stapleton but with the maturity of TSC Board President Adela Garza.

Elizondo, who attracts felonies like excrement attracts flies, was fired as Brownsville's fire chief, finished third in a three-person race when he sought reelection to the BISD Board two years ago and spends most his free time in and out of court, is a disgrace. Eddie Garcia, a retired veteran of Brownsville's finest, was appointed to the board in Castro's seat when the latter was escorted to jail after a drinking incident; Garcia has distinguished himself. Unlike Castro who wants to be the center of attention, Garcia operates quietly and with the cooperation of his colleagues in the background.

And Cardenas!?!? His sorry record has been well-documented by the bloggers. Why he even steps into the arena defies logic because he is inexorably carried out on a stretcher after a first-round knockout. He has absolutely no chance against Phil Cowen, particularly in the wake of the breaking news that the authorities are searching for him because he hasn't been paying his child support.

"Los Tres Buitres" want to soar high in the sky, but in their flights of fancy they are flying to close to the sun. The wax that is holding their wings to their shoulders is fast melting and they will inevitably come crashing back to earth again.
