PENA MUST GO

The Brownsville Republic and The McHale Report agree on one outcome: Brownsville Independent School District (BISD) Board of Trustee's President Minerva Peña has to go: Writes The Republic's publisher /DP-M about the religious hypocrite Peña:  

"One would think that the schoolboard’s president would at the very least own-up to the shitstorm that has chased her tenure these past four years. It’s been one helluva mess. The toilet still won’t flush.

"Minerva Peña is her name and she’s been the one in charge as several board members have faced arrest, one resigning, another under indictment and yet another still trailed by a theft charge, that one being former Brownsville Fire Department Chief Carlos Elizondo, who wants back on the public schools policy body.

"How to assess her value to the still-troubled BISD?" posed /DP-M.

"Can we say that Mrs. Peña, a former Department of Public Safety career employee, is still reaching for the needed toilet paper? Can we say that she’s not even ready to wipe the slate clean? Can we say that she’s been an unequivocal failure as leader of the board? Can we say that she absolutely has to go?

"Yes to all of that…and more.

"Mrs. Peña, age 62 today, but 63 come December 17, has offered nothing during her ongoing re-election campaign to give voters a clue as to what she wants to do (soil) in another 4-year term. If anything, she appears to be running on her awful record as head of a Board that with few exceptions, has been a long-running, technicolor shitshow now the laughingstock of the Rio Grande Valley. Take a bow, Madam. And ask me nicely to hand you the toilet paper."

Peña, a chronic chatterbox who exacerbates her loose lips by saying nothing, has built a comadre system in the school years after 12 years of wheeling and dealing in the name of Christ. There is not a school board meeting that she doesn't embarrasses the school district with her inane comments.

She is reported to have made one ridiculous statement after another. Since /DP-M doesn't have any concrete evidence, he does allude to this oft-repeated rumor about Peña's Trumpian mentality:

"Additionally, and we would have added this to the above posting had we had first-hand info about it, Mrs. Peña is said to believe the Coronavirus pandemic that has killed some 210,000 Americans is a hoax. Commenters on the city’s Blogs insist that she’s said it. We offer this nugget here in this postscript fashion because the allegation is out there, as they say in rumor and innuendo. If true, it certainly would further mar her record and, to us, disqualify her from serving on the BISD Board altogether."

While the two blogs agree that Peña needs to go, they differ on her replacement. The Brownsville Republic is endorsing rookie Marisa Leal while The McHale Report is recommending veteran Joe Rodriguez. A victory by either would be a victory for the BISD because the district's image has taken a beating with the loser's Peña incompetency.

He has advised scores of candidates who, in the end, have usually lost to Rodrigo Moreno's Pink Ape aspirants.
