ROBLEDO III
RUTH R. LARA: "This is so disappointing to know about Katy. She seemed so genuine and kind. I guess the word here is "seemed." Her actions have really proved otherwise. There's a reason vows are exchanged when one marries. But like you mention, she just thinks these vows do not apply to her. This is truly sad. You have been a very patient man, Davey. I pray our good Lord will continue to give you this patience and understanding. In the long run, Katy may someday realize in this life we only have one true love and when we're there for that person through sickness or health, for richer or poorer, that love will flourish and no one else will ever love you so unconditionally. I will keep praying for both of you and special hugs to your beautiful children."
(EDITOR'S NOTE: At The McHale Report it is our duty to inform and entertain. We don't look for stories. The stories come to us. Most so-called investigative reporters have insiders who are feeding them news-breaking information. These journalists make a call or two to confirm the facts and the article goes to press the next day with a titillating and scintillating headline. In this case we are simply reading David Robledo's Facebook page (He is accessible under David Junior.) and we allow his posts to dictate the pace of this tempestuous tete-a-tete with his ex-wife and prominent Brownsville attorney Katy "La Gata" Youker. Since he asserts categorically that she left him both broke and broken in the wake of their vicious divorce, he doesn't have the money to take her before a judge. Therefore, as an ex-journalist, he is resorting to his strengths to try her in the court of public opinion. Based on the responses, he is winning the jury's sympathy. We welcome Youker's side of the story, but she is following a time-tested strategy to retreat into silence rather than going back and forth with her ex. Ruth Lara is praying that the two will reconciliate one day, but based on Robledo's comments, we doubt that this razed relationship will ever rise again. "She has her moments, Ruth, and I think she loves the kids," laments Robledo. "But generally she is pretty lost in terms of values because she was raised only to think of herself." The Robledo/Youker free-for-all does create a concern among divorced or separated parents. Will a mother suspect that her former spouse is putting their children in compromised situations regarding COVID-19? Will a father have equal doubts? What are their recourses if one or the other isn't wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and avoiding large groups? Robledo may be drowning in bitterness, but are Youker's actions in her personal, romantic and professional lives jeopardizing her children's health? At The McHale Report we have hired the Baker Boys, the famed investigative twins, to interview Youker and determine if there is any substance to Robledo's consternation. We would not be surprised if El Rrun Rrun's Juan Montoya or The Brownsville Republic's /DP-M launched inquiries of their own, particularly if Youker runs for the BISD board. (In the interest of full disclosure, her reported candidacy is based on an unconfirmed rumor from a suspicious source.) She can rest assure that The Brownsville Herald will not come knocking at her West Brownsville home. Robledo grudgingly concedes that he doesn't have any problems with his ex pursuing a love interest, but he emphatically asserts that he will not tolerate Youker in bed with someone else while her children are left home alone in their beds. There are rumors swirling around Youker regarding a possible dalliance with a prominent political figure, but we cannot substantiate the oft-whispered gossip. (We endeavor to maintain our high standards although not succumbing to our inquiring minds can be difficult.) Since Robledo doesn't have any reservations about putting Youker's feet to the fire, perhaps he'll reveal the individual who is allegedly heating up the lawyer's money-maker. Will Robledo demand a negative result from the male if Youker does have a passionate partner in order to protect his kids from an asymptomatic subject? At The McHale Report we must confess that reporting on the demise of a relationship is a welcomed relief to reporting on the demise of a Coronavirus victim. We all know that love isn't forever, but death is.)
