WE MUST MAKE AMERICA WHITE AGAIN
The ability to appreciate black humor and biting satire is a sign of intelligence. Many of the comments that followed on Facebook THE GRINGOS HAVE SPOKEN: IT'S STILL OUR COUNTRY!!! reflect ignorance. In fact, I can imagine these words emanating from the smiling mouths of the gringos gathered below lynched African-Americans.
Approximately 90% of the African-Americans voted against Trump because they perceive him as a racist. He wants to bar Muslims from the country. He calls Mexicans rapists and insists on building the Great Trump Wall between the two nations. He believes women are toys. He mimics individuals with disabilities.
Trump prevailed by appealing to our worst instincts. He found a fanatical following among white blue-collar workers whose ancestors probably strung a black or two from an magnolia tree. This country was founded on racism and racism is alive and well.
In the wake of Trump's mindboggling victory, David Duke, the face of the KKK, couldn't contain his glee. He joyfully proclaimed:
"It's time to do the right thing. It's time to take America back. Donald Trump has the chance to become one of the greatest Americans to have lived. We have the high moral ground. Our people have played a huge role in electing Donald Trump. Make no mistake about it: Donald Trump owes this victory to the South."
I always find it sadly amusing when fellow Americans want to hang you from the nearest mesquite like the Texas Rangers disposing of Mexicans in days of yore for merely celebrating one's First Amendment rights. When you try to silence others, you are establishing the precedent for silencing yourself.
A person without his or her voice is nothing more than a mindless human being inhabiting a hollow shell. On the other hand, I do appreciate the angry opinions because they are insights into the herd mentality that put Trump in office.
I am a writer. People have threatened my life because I am a writer. I have been sued on several occasions because I am a writer. BISD trustees tried to fire me because I am a writer. I faced losing my credential twice at TEA because I am a writer. I had to retire from the BISD because I am a writer. I am presently litigating a lawsuit against me because I am a writer.
If you are going to rant and rave about my postings because you can't read between the lines, you are obviously not a writer. Ignominiously, you expose yourself as a limited thinker. People who see life in black and white exhibit a stupidity for which there is little remedy. Life is lived in the gray. When you arrive at my age, life is definitely lived in the gray.

Finally, we should show more graphic photos. Maybe there wouldn't be so many drunk drivers if we saw their dead victims. Maybe there wouldn't be so many wars if we saw the dead soldiers. Maybe we wouldn't be so quick to forget our history and how it still haunts us today if we saw more blacks dangling from branches.
